As October comes around, the summer season quickly begins to feel like a distant memory. With the falling leaves, the cooler chill and the darker nights, the autumn months make for the perfect time to get your home warm, cosy and ready for the often drastic winter climate. We’ve listed some simple tips below to help you transform your space into a cosy retreat this autumn!

Warm hues

Don't just admire the warm, autumnal colour schemes that feature outside – there’s nothing to stop you from incorporating them into your home too! Soft oranges, forest green and mustard yellow are excellent colour choices and work really well in reflecting the season. If you're craving a change, consider these warmer hues when browsing paint colours and wallpaper designs. But if you're looking for a quick and easy solution, wall art and decorative items in autumnal colours can still create an impact, and are often more affordable than a complete overhaul.

Candle glow

Scented candles are key to creating an ambience and cosy atmosphere by providing a soft glow to any room. Want to take it one step further? Look for the scented types with rich fragrance notes of pumpkin, chestnut or gingerbread to really bring the autumn inside!

Snuggle up with soft furnishings

Soft furnishings are key to transforming the look and feel of any room but, as the temperature begins to drop, oversized knitted blankets and super soft pillows also make for a practical addition to any sofa or bed. We promise you that a bed decorated with a cosy throw and some cushions looks ten times more inviting when coming in from the cold! With so many colours and sizes available, you’ll be spoilt for choice! If you want achieve maximum cosiness, layer soft furnishings in different textures and fabrics to cook for soft furnishings in different textures and materials and layer these with each other.
