Top tips: styling your festive dining table

Top tips: styling your festive dining table

The countdown is on! It’s getting even closer to Christmas, and with that comes an abundance of planning for the big Christmas day meal. If you’re hosting this year and looking to impress your guests, take a look at our three top tips to ensure that your Festive Entertaining is on point.

Table runners and centrepieces

Firstly, you’ll need to pick your colour scheme or theme, and then use this as your starting point. If you’re opting for traditional colours, red always works well as a bold, warm and striking colour for a table runner. If you are going for something more contemporary, try mixing blues and golds. Feeling particularly adventurous? Spruce up your table centre with a decorated garland. Make sure that the decorations you choose for the garland complement the colour of your table runner and other accessories on the table.

Table mats and other accessories

After you have established your table theme you can begin to piece everything else together. Try to enhance your table theme with sophisticated table mats and other accessories, such as napkins, napkin rings, small floral displays and candles.

Sprayed pine cones can also be another nice touch, and you can usually pick them up in gold or silver at this time of year - whatever colour works best with your festive theme!

Simple and stylish crockery

And of course the absolute must for any Christmas dinner - a full-set of stylish crockery complete with cutlery. If you have opted for a lot of table decoration and don’t want to overwhelm the space any more then go for something simple - a plain white works well. Table chargers can add that extra dash of creative, colourful flair.
