4 Things Your Home Needs For Autumn

Autumn - it’s the perfect time to bring a warming atmosphere to your home as the year winds down. With crisper temperatures setting in and darker nights approaching, your home will welcome cosy comforts, all-important warmth, and everything else that encompasses the art of Danish hygge.

To make sure that you can fully embrace the season, we’ve put together a list of things that your home needs to be ready for Autumn:

Chunky knitwear throws

Throws are perfect accents to any room all year round, but in Autumn and Winter chunky knitwear throws are particularly effective. Not only do they look more inviting, but they offer a much higher level of ‘toastiness’ on a Saturday night tucked up at home. Also, no matter what colour you choose, they always look like the perfect addition to any cold weather season.

Scented Candles

Candles are lovely for ambience and atmosphere in all seasons, but there is something about scented candles that truly brings out that autumnal feeling in your home. Spiced berries, orange and cinnamon, pumpkin, and earthy pines are all ideal if you truly want to embrace the season. Even better, they all fit in with the vibrant hues of outdoor Autumn - oranges, reds and purples - all perfect for this colourful time of year.

Autumnal Colours

Speaking of autumnal colours, a great way to update your home for Autumn is by updating the accent colours in your living room or bedroom. Oranges, reds, yellows and purples all work if you are looking to mirror the outdoors and bring those vibrant leaf-changing vibes indoors. Scatter cushions are an easy way to add a new colour, and a trio of them in a range of shades creates an immediately upgraded look. If you are looking to go a step further, rugs are also a great way to add warmth to a home, and similar to scatter cushions, give the same instant effect.

Add more lighting for the darker nights

October is the time of year when the dark nights begin to draw in with the clock change. As such, it can make our homes feel a little dark and dreary. If you want to combat this, lighting is an excellent way to make a home feel warm again. If you want to make your living room snug, then add a big table lamp. If you want to soften the lighting in your bedroom for a relaxing feel, try adding string fairy lights in a warmer tone.
