For more than 60 years Duresta have continued in the English tradition as makers of Country House upholstery and are suppliers to the foremost furnishing specialists throughout the world.
The frame, if it is made correctly, enables the upholsterer to create something of lasting quality. For the Classic and Slipcover collections the traditional styling dictates a solid hardwood frame dowelled, glued and screwed together. Some of the leather pieces have a more contemporary styling so they are constructed using more contemporary materials and techniques including 9 layer laminates and zinc plated bolts alongside the essential solid hardwoods.
Duresta's collection of fabrics & leathers are sourced internationally to ensure the widest choice. All undergo rigorous quality testing to reduce the incidence of premature wear and tear and to guide you as to suitability.
At the heart of Duresta is the English Country House style. This style is universally appreciated for its essentially Comfortable character, one where the formal and very grand can sit beautifully alongside the casual, plain and simple. An ingredient which must be present in each element however is high quality.
If you review this range you will come across the National Trust symbol. Where this is found it indicates that the model is inspired by original pieces and design details found in the collections of the National Trust. Duresta holds a unique licence to reproduce pieces from collections found in its historic houses.
